DLUHC visit to Changing Futures Stoke-on-Trent
The Changing Futures programme recently hosted a visit with representation from Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Local Government, Department for Education, Supporting Families, Childrens Services and HM Treasury to showcase the work happening here in
Stoke-on-Trent to support people experiencing multiple disadvantage.
Weโre very proud of the feedback we received which you can read below:
Gemma, Rachel and Stoke colleagues,
Thank you so much for an enjoyable and insightful day on Monday.
We covered a lot of ground across the day, including: the value of your lived experience-led organisation; the experiences of co-ordinators on how best to help customers; the partnership enablers and barriers; the new plans on Supporting Families and Family Hubs; and the broader challenges to creating a more preventative social safety net in Stoke.
I have had universally excellent feedback from other colleagues, including those in other departments and divisions. The format worked really well I thought, and it was evident just how much preparation had gone into organising it. We all learnt a lot, and are busily sharing notes on all the useful pointers for further practice and policy development.
It was fantastic to connect with you as the programme managers, and see the teams delivering the frontline support and services. I appreciate that the overall climate is challenging, as Jon clearly and rightly set out, though I was heartened to see the passion and skills you were showing in providing effective support. I was also struck by just how much service improvement and forward-planning work is underway.
Thanks again โ please do pass this on to others who helped out on the day. Hope to see you again soon.
Finally, here are a couple of pictures to help us all remember a great day ๐
